I looked for alternatives, found “VLC /media Player”, installed it, then tried clicking the link back on the original page. I got the window again and it still wanted to install QuickTime. I haven’t rebooted the machine and tried again but I’m not hopeful that will have any affect.

If the video file was compressed by using a QuickTime codec and if it is required to decode the file using QuickTime codec then it must be installed. You may want to check with the web master for any alternative.
